Motivating, Focusing and Energizing

Trumbull County Educational Service Center in conjunction with

PsychEd Workshops and Ashland University present:

Motivating, Focusing and Energizing “Post Covid” Students and
Athletes: A Guide for Classroom Teachers, Counselors, School
Psychologists and Coaches

The Covid pandemic has had a significant ongoing negative impact our students’ mental health, attendance
patterns, motivation and achievement levels, and overall academic performance. As educators, we are the “first
responders” to help our student reverse this downward spiral. You have probably heard the phrase “just try
harder.” This workshop will show you how to “try smarter” by teaching our students and athletes effective ways
to cope with stress and anxiety, improve motivation and concentration, and establish goals and action plans.
Other concepts and strategies that will be discussed and demonstrated include “the ten-question coping skills
assessment,” adaptive competence, trait and state anxiety, the three types of attention, mindsets and peak mind,
peak performance, the power of relationships, managing arousal levels, guided imagery, cognitive restructuring,
breathwork, self-regulation, The Navel Seal Mental Toughness Model, how to take a test, and more.

Required audio CD (available first day of class for $14.95): “Concentration, Relaxation, and Academic
Success: Test Taking Methods and Coping with Test Anxiety,” by Michael S. Prokop, ISBN: 0-933879-44-X,
