Trumbull County Educational Service Center in conjunction with
Ashland University present:
Exploring the Mind/Body Connection, Mindfulness, and Integrative Healing Practices: A Guide for Classroom Teachers, Counselors, School Psychologists and Social Workers
The mind and body are intimately intertwined and in a continual state of communication with each other. As an intra-connected system, the status of the mind impacts the body, and the status of the body influences the mind and learning. In this workshop, you will discover how the positive enhancement and integration of the mind-body connection will promote learning and a sense of physical, emotional, and psychological health. Concepts that will be reviewed and discussed include historical perspectives, the biopsychosocial model of learning, brain anatomy, how to integrate the mind/body, bilateral stimulation, balance, allostatic load, breathwork and mindful breathing, mindfulness and flow states, inner and external resources, classroom interventions and more. Also, experience 12 new integrative healing activities that you can practice with your students and clients.
