Trumbull County Educational Service Center in conjunction with

PsychEd Workshops and Ashland University present:

Helping Children and Adolescents Cope with COVID-19, Anxiety, and Trauma: A Healing Guide for Classroom Teachers, Counselors, Social Workers, School Psychologists and Administrators

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant increase in fear, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) among children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. In this workshop, the causes and effects of Covid related stress, anxiety and trauma will be examined to help educators and caregivers mindfully provide safe, relaxing, and effective healing interventions. Integrative concepts that will be reviewed and discussed include COVID-19 and the trauma feedback loop, vicarious trauma, understanding the difference between stress and trauma, the instinctive trauma response, The Triune Brain, the fight/flight/freeze response, freeze discharge, trauma triggers, co-regulation and interpersonal neurobiology, self-regulation and the relaxation response, and the mindful healing feedback loop. Participants will also “learn and experience” over 15+ mind/body healing strategies that can be used to help you (and your students, clients) relax your body, calm your mind, and energize your spirit.
